Are Documentary Films Changing our Democracies?

Harry Litwack of Harry Litwack Productions leads an active discussion with a panel of filmmakers, newspaper and television reporters. Panelists include Joe Barber and Mary Patel (co-producers/directors of the political documentary "Electile Dysfunction") and Bob Bowden ("The Cartel", a film about education in America). Discussion will be followed by a Q & A session.

Cinema 16 presentation

Recreating the experience of the silent film era, curator Molly Surno programs obscure vintage films and pairs them with contemporary New York musicians. Bands are given one month to compose a musical score in order to modernize the tradition of an live music accompanying films during the 1920s.

Q&A with Academy Award Nominee John Dilworth

Academy Award nominated director John R Dilworth is a New York-based animation director and designer whose work has appeared on HBO, FOX, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, MTV, Canal +, and Arte, as well as the Museum of Modern Art, and the Guggenheim Museum in New York City. He has produced thirteen award-winning independent and sponsored films, which have screened around the world, including "The Dirty Birdy," "The Chicken From Outer Space," and "Life in Transition." Dilworth is also the creator of the top-rated Cartoon Network series, "Courage the Cowardly Dog."
